The Latest Auto Recalls

Comments Off

seems we cannot go long without the need to let our readership know about further automobile recalls.  There’s a slew of new recalls out this August, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

Bentley Motors, Inc. has recalled 2007 to 2009 Continental Flying Spur models due to the possibility the sunroof glass could fall out while driving the vehicles.   If you are the lucky owner of a Bentley you may contact 1-800-777-6923 to see if your particular automobile is subject to the recall.

BMW of North America has issued a recall of its 2015 BMW M5 sedans, 2015 BMW M6 coupes, 2015 BMW M6 convertibles, and 2015 BMW M6 Gran Coupe automobiles.  This recall is due to a faultily welded driveshaft that could cause it to fracture and take out the rear wheel drive and propulsion.  This, in turn could cause a dangerous crash, and if the parking brake is not used once the vehicle is in parked the vehicle may roll when the occupants exit them.  BMW owners may find out if their model is affected by calling 1-800-525-7417.

General Motors has issued a recall of its 2016 Buick Verano that comes with a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, as the fuel line assembly is defective and could allow the unwanted effect of the fuel line to make contact with the engine, wear, leak, and perhaps start a fire.  GM’s recall number is 54180 and Buick Verano owners may call 1-800-521-7300 to find out if their vehicle is subject to the recall.

Chrysler did not want to be left out and has recalled its 2015 and 2016 Chrysler Town & Country, as well as their Dodge Grand Caravan Minivans due the possibility of seizing transmission pumps resulting in no hydraulic pressure and power.  This could understandably cause a risk of a crash for drivers of the minivans.  The recall number for this one is S44 and the number to contact is 1-800-853-1403.

Chrysler has another recall with its 2015 and 2016 Jeep Renegades, due to the fact that the trailer hitch assemblies were manufactured with only one fastener on each side, when three are the requirement for each side.  Towed vehicles can come unhitched and cause crashes, so owners are asked to remember recall number S62 and call 1-800-853-1403.

Hyundai Motor America has also had to put out a recall on its 2013 Hyundai Elantras due to the fact the brake pedal stopper pads are at risk of deteriorating, causing the brake light switch plunger to stay extended when the brake pedals are released.  When this happens the brake lights can remain on.  The other danger with this is that the transmission can be shifted out of “Park” without having to push the brake pedal and crashes could occur.  The recall number is 146 for this recall and the phone number is 1-855-371-9460.

Finally, Mitsubishi Motors North America has had to recall its 2015 and 2016 Outlander Sport and 2016 Outlander and Lancer vehicles.  This recqal is due to the fact that a delay can happen during acceleration of the vehicles that can cause crashes.  The recall number is SR-06-006 and the number to call is 1-888-648-7820.

We urge vehicle owners who may possibly own any of the aforementioned vehicles to immediately make contact with the given phone numbers so as not to place yourselves and yoru loved ones at risk.
