The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is looking into the dangers with yet another controversial birth control product out on the market. The Essure birth control implant has caused side effects that are non-life threatening, but more disturbing (and death in at least one instance). Some women, with the implanted Essure, have complained of weight gain, fatigue, and depression, while others have complained of severe, burning pain from the pelvis and radiating down the lower extremities. There have also been reports of miscarriages and the metal coils cutting into other organs of the body. One woman died while the Essure was being implanted.
To date, females and loved ones affected by this birth control device have had a long road in getting anyone to listen to the dangers of the Essure device. However, the FDA has finally decided to look into the safety implications with outside experts.

I am an essure victim. Have been since 2013. I am 23 years old and have 4 kids ages 5 and under. Since the day I got essure implanted my health physically, mentally, and emotionally has went 100% down hill. It has taken my my life away from me and got me close to a divorce because I have no libido at all n no desire to have any communication with my husband and am not bale to care for my children. I have had many miscarriages, severe pelvic and abdominal pain, joint and lower back pain, severe migraines, constantly randomly falling asleep, no libido, no appetite, serious weight loss, memory loss, serious dental problems, very heavy periods and lasting 2-3 week's at a time. Severe abdominal pain during and after sex. Loss of hearing in one ear and really blurry vision. The list can go on. I am desperate. I was scheduled for a hysterectomy but was to afraid to go through because I am a young women and I'm scared to go through such a change. I am in desperate need of help. I just want my life back so I can care for my children and be the happy person I used to be. Please help me so my family can go back to the way we used to be. Thank you

Why doesn't it say anything about all of us that are having autoimmune issues?

I also have autoimmune problems caused by the PET fibers in essure. The articles forget to mention this common side effect!
