Autumn Driving Dangers

Comments Off

Another beautiful autumn season is fast approaching with the dog days of summer coming to an end soon.  For most people this brings to mind school, football, beautifully colored leaves, apple festivals, pumpkins, and much needed rain after a dry summer.  However, autumn can also bring dangers to the drivers out there, with its decreasing daylight hours and ever changing weather conditions and temperatures.  Heavy rain can bring hydroplane dangers and leaves on the roads can be deceptively slippery.  There can be fog and bright sun to interfere with drivers’ vision.  There can be weather conditions causing slippery roads and bridges, ranging from rain to frost to black ice.

It is extremely important to be ready for the fall driving season by checking your tire tread and inflation, checking your headlights and fog lights, and by making sure your windows and mirrors are not fogged up before departing for your destination.  It is also important to educate your family in fall driving hazards and how to handle the vehicle when it is slipping or sliding due to these hazards.  Do not forget the hazard of an abundant deer population indiscriminately running onto the road in front of your vehicle at dusk.  If you or a loved one has been involved in a motor vehicle accident that was not fault of your own, do not hesitate to contact Inserra & Kelley Law Offices for assistance and to see whether you may be entitled to compensation.
